"I Love You", the Ira way

                         Twinning in Love!

Expressing love is important. While adults often struggle with the expression of this basic emotion, 'Little human beings' have the most innovative ways to do that.

We at home are both vocal and 'huggie' by nature. Saying 'I love you' is like breathing. While it is important, it is best when done in an effortless manner.

Growing up, many of us may not have had a family environment where love and care was vocally expressed. Even today, the older generatio  shows it through the food they cook, the questions they ask and the concerns they show. It was never about I love you, a pat or a hug and kiss.

Prashant and I are both different as individuals on the expression- meter (not even sure if such a word exists). However, as parents, we understand and feel it is extremely important to express how you feel with your child and encourage her to do the same.  The result is that group hugs, individual hugs, chain of kisses happen before we three head out for the day. If one of us is travelling, Ira will walk us to the lift and loudly say, "Love you Mamma" or "Love you Papa"; ensuring the entire apartment can hear it! A goodnight follows with a 'I Love you'.

Ira expresses love through the cards she makes for her teacher, her friends, her mamma papa, herJoi and her grandparents. She draws the 'heart' everywhere now, along with a rainbow and ensures her messages to Joy include her signature 'i love you'.

I would like to believe that this tradition or behavior, whatever we choose to call it, will continue. But we are also aware that there may come a time when this vocal expression may seem silly to our not so little human being. For now, we bask in it, shine in it and find our hearts melting in it. We also twin at times and take pics to capture that moment. Because 'I love you' can be expressed in so many ways that a little human being finds delightful.

To a world of love, hugs, kisses and happy rainbows, the Ira way!

Love is a lot of things

Love is a lot of things
Love is knowing exactly how she likes that alu sabji
Love is knowing exactly how he likes the chicken curry
Love is knowing that panch phoron is her spice of choice
Love is knowing that jeera is his indulgent sprinkle
Love is knowing that she cries to express multiple emotions
Love is knowing that silence is his solace when the mind is in a whirlwind
Love is knowing that dark chocolates can just solve all her problems momentarily
Love is knowing that cooking and cleaning are his problem solvers
Love is knowing that when she talks nineteen to a dozen, she is fine
Love is knowing that when he is at his sarcastic best, he is fine
Love is knowing that she smells the pages of every book she reads
Love is knowing that when he plays a video game, the thrill he heeds
Love is knowing that she will always be a die hard romantic
Love is knowing that he will be the pragmatic one, scoffing at the overtures
Love is knowing that she will make those little notes
Love is knowing that he will send her the cutest gifs
Love is knowing that she mastered the art of making imperfect chocolate dipped strawberries
Love is knowing that he can just conjure a perfect coffee on even an imperfect day

Love is a lot of things
Love is seeing that 'our precious' loves her sweets and devours books just like her
Love is seeing that 'our precious' loves her treks and presents arguments just like him

Love is a lot of things
Love is writing a mushy poem on a day that celebrates love
Love is taking a pic of the moment, even though we all look exhausted
Love is making sense of random love filled moments
But the fact is love needs no reason and no day

Love is a lot of things
Love is for everyday!

Our 'Little Human Being' Graduates Montessori

Ira and Mamma posed and Papa clicked

8th February 2020 is a milestone day for our little girl.

 Ira with her Certificate
with the founder of her Montessori

She had her 4th Year Montessori annual day and her graduation. To just see her walk up that stage, take that certificate and pose must have been the moment of the year. Sadly, Papa was unwell and missed it (the first ever event at her school that he missed). Ira couldn't wait to tell Papa all that had transpired including the little gift Mamma won for answering a random quiz question.

                      Telling Papa everything

She also performed on a dance number and shyly smiled, which was preceded by waving and flying kisses to Mamma. A day that was as precious as our little one. Ira and Mamma missed having Papa with them on that day.
