Not so mundane...
Eventful ones make sure we don't blink.
Mundane mondays are a thing of the past,
Mine was so non-mundane that memories will last.
This is a tale in two acts...
The curtain will rise to reveal the facts!
A sunny afternoon with clear skies...
I sat in the auto bracing myself for the 1.5 hour ride.
Had a presentation in a corporate
WLB study was the sole motive.
Presentation paper in hand...
Figures of results stand...
A gust of wind changes direction...
Through the traffic moves the auto beating congestion.
I was in a daze or just lost..
A big thud sound and me in the air...
Inside the auto only...lemme be fair:)
My close to expiry date spectacles were now on the ground..
Without much ado,them i found...
My 'savari' had bumped into a bike...
What a commotion and temper hike...
Signal he had ignored and here we were...
Part of an accident that was not mere.
Gathering myself i sat on the seat...
Heavy downpour brushed something off my feet
I look and i see my presentation
Lying in mud and drenched to the weave.
I thought it can't get worse...
And looked like someone had heard my cry...
Rain got mightier, my patience it did try!
My back had taken a beating...
My head bore a bump ...
We still had miles to go...
And my throat bore a lump!
I walked into the gate...
Looking at my drenched fate...
the limp was there...
But the confidence still did stare!
The curtains will now fall to rise again...
To tell you the next experience- the story twine
I walk into the office waiting to meet a crowd...
Politely refusing coffee and settling for water around.
Always wondered how the cubicles miss the chatter,
The air conditioner is the loudest...
Just some faint laughter...
The world converging in this virtual domain...
Networks built with no flesh and pain.
I just had the coordinating person for company.
He candidly told me "it is a con call presentation"
And i said,"oh! how?"
He said"cost cutting, no traveling, con call meetings!"
My ignorance at bay, i recalled the OB paper i wrote
On Virtual networks and how the world it had mold...
All those diagrams on paper had made perfect sense
But theory to practical, i was looking through a new lens.
I sat on a chair and presented my presentation
to four walls, a while board, a single company, and rest of the furniture around.
Sipped some coffee in between and smiled to self.
Opinions were expressed, questions were raised...
I answered them with no haste.
Time ticked on...
I looked at my watch with no worry that i breached etiquette.
And then it was all over...
The voices died down...
silence prevailed...
I wondered how my voice did sound...
Take pride in thinking it is micro phonic...
But in situations like this, i also get phobic.
I walked out of the glass room
and into the open air...
smelled the fresh grass and saw human existence near...
I was assured this was just where i did belong!
Amidst human contact...far away from that virtual world
Adios to those four wall...
Not sure if i want to step in there...
But may be i will...
Or i do have a choice to choose the not so mundane...
Fresh footsteps...
Small pebbles
Textures change.
The curtain will fall on the happenings
Memories will become insignificant
Learnings will remain untouched.
Will still need a virtual world to express the real happenings!
Wanted to narrate, but prose found no ink
Poetry was the call, but saga it was in a wink!
Twos company...,Dearly yours
Genuine musings
Making memories
Scribbled notes
Twinkled thoughts
Sketched laughter
Crumpled paper
New revelation
Old revolution
Active moments
Thinking minds
Running fingers
Magnum opus!
,Dearly yours
This 2 cents of poetry is dedicated to two people whose company keeps me sane in this rigmarole of research! thanks K & D:)

Mighty and Mortal
The earth wet in realization of change
The rays of sun peeking through the few clouds
The wind moist in its temper finding its way
The birds chirping the song of dusk
The footsteps are silent on the stone pathway
The fallen leaves shed their glory
The broken twig dreams of a new story
The hope in heart leads to a next moment
The reality in life dawns in the mind potent
The wait turns to yawn, the gaze begins to fade
The mighty will take his time, the mortal awaits her fate.

I walked on the pebble bay...
I see the sun shine by...
The sprinkler of rain...
and the pebbles go shy...
I see my reflection
and wonder where am going?
Have i ever stopped to ponder...
or this is another mindless stroll...
I stumble upon little opportunities
and pick the speck to be a part of it
the sand of time flows from my fist
the memories are all in gist...
what have i done?
where do i go?
how much to do?
when to be?
whose life is it anyway?
Some answers are best left unknown
some questions best left unasked
in all that questioning and answering
we lose the moment that's now-
and we do not even know how.
I walked on the pebble bay
saw my sunshine dreams
my faith sprinkled
and life revisited!
A little conversation and long silences with a dear friend and this is what it got me thinking. Thanks Mals!!

WE
Spring in the rains
A splendid horizon.
Shy moments
Autumn was coy
Eternal embrace.
A year gone by
More summers to come
A lifetime of togetherness.
Each verse a haiku (still learning the ropes of it)...
Each depicts a moment
Each redefines the WE!

Ride

'Our' First Bullet Ride- May 1st 2009, Bangalore to Hassan and back!
The bike rode on-
Rain met the horizon
**My first attempt at Haiku
**Rules of Haiku:
Some of the more common practices in English are:
- Use of three (or fewer) lines of 17 or fewer syllables;
- Use of a season word (kigo);
- Use of a cut (sometimes indicated by a punctuation mark) paralleling the Japanese use of kireji, to contrast and compare, implicitly, two events, images, or situations.

I did...Did you Vote??
Anthems of all tunes marked the nation,
People of all types and sizes participated in the processions...
Shut Up and Vote was the call!!
On deaf ears did it all fall??
Rights discussed, pros and cons assessed...
Prime time coverage to campaigns, liaisons and shoe throwing!
Flags to wipe sweat, ornament hair and litter the road...
Symbols galore to impress us and then goad.
Voter turnout dismal in number...
Educated Urbans they say stayed away...
It is the Middleclass who like democracy this way...
Words like this were professed...
Today it is an old news...
We still have some strong views...
The anthems meant good...got the first timers...the newbie boomers!!
But most chose to stay at home...use the holiday in another way!
Apathy plagues the nation?
Constancy is preferred and change abhorred?
Lots of questions bother me...
A personal experience i quote u see...
People at the centres when asked about
the option to NOT vote...why that button was missing?
Some were ignorant, others surprised that i bothered?
"What madam, how does it matter...u have so many buttons push any 1"...
Shocked and distressed...whom do i write to??
I will vote again in the next elections...
I will exercise my right and fulfill my duty...
But why promise the future?
What about today?
I did...Did you Vote??

लड़की ने कदम बढाया, लड़के ने बाहे फैलाई;

Back to the roads, count upto one!!
the dust had settled
the rust had set,
it was waking from the hibernation,
receiving the same adulation.
its voice wakes you with a startle,
the ride through the winds gives you a high.
this exhilarating experience is second to none.
Back to the roads, count upto one!
He rode the country
he lived his dream
this was his companion
in land unforeseen.
The memoirs are bigger
than any living chronicle
A method in madness
Of gumption and perseverance shown.
Back to the roads, count upto one!
My hero met his hero,
a smile marked the face ,
mischief in the eyes
happiness in a daze.
He took the seat
and let the moment sink in
he was back where he belonged.
He rode into the horizon.
Back to the roads, count upto one!
This was a fable of a few minutes
but will last a life time
Many reunions i will see
But none like this one!
An ode to my Hero and his Hero;
Back to the roads, count upto one!!
An Ode to the Gen Z
