You taught me so much Papa!

One of their favorite things to do!

Being a father to a little girl is one of the hardest things to do.

  • She looks up to you to solve all her big problems.
  • She runs to you with the smallest bruise as you are her first aid officer.
  • She wants to do pull ups and count you down too so you both are stronger together.
  • She talks to you about food textures while you cook together and how she can feel that little extra spice.
  • She watches Uncle Rogers and Tipsy Bartender with you, asking a zillion curious questions.
  • She wants you to keep showing those funny videos and fiasco adventure clips.
  • She reads the newspaper headlines, discusses them with you and then wants to solve the jumbles too, emphatically pronouncing the words phonetically.
  • When unwell, she clings to you and tells you it makes her feel better.
  • She does her stretches like you have taught her and claims you are the best massage giver.
  • She cringes her eyebrows like you and shrugs those little shoulders too to make a point at times.
  • She likes to play subway surfers and monument valley and knows you will bring up her score and be her saviour.
  • She likes to trek and nudged by you, wants to be the trail leader, packing that perfect trek bag.
  • She says, "You taught me so much Papa!", when she beats you in a conversation and convinces you in an argument.
  • She is fierce, independent and adventurous like you Papa.

Being a father to a little girl is one of the hardest things to do.

You are her hero and her partner in crime.

You are parenting 24*7, because that is what being a Father is all about.

Happy Father's Day Ira ke Papa!

Also, this year, I was unable to meet Baba. So, a little glimpse of how Baba and Papa celebrated Father's Day, with a peanut butter chocolate cake and some dark chocolate and chicken pulao.

Papa's birthday and Dutch Truffle Cake

Another year and another lockdown birthday for Papa.

The excitement however remains, with our little girl making a card at 10.15pm the previous night. A lot of secret planning with mamma and choosing  a cake that fits all requirements.

The morning begins with wishing Papa at every instance, giving him the greeting card and a menu for the day.

Being a foodie family, we had discovered  a one pot chicken vegetable noodle soup and that made it to the birthday menu.

The cake was Dutch truffle from one of Papa's favourite patisserie.

And like always, Papa had surprises for Ira and mamma. I got dark chocolates and Ira got  a book :)

Little things, little moments we are grateful for.

And yeah, Papa celebrated his birthday in April.

Happy Father's Day Baba and Ira Ke Papa

The world celebrates Father's Day today. A moment for us to get together for lunch, click some pics for posterity and be grateful for this time together.

Today, I shall let the pics do the talking.

1. Ira made a card for Papa and gave it to him in the morning. Wished him every few minutes. Her current fascination is also to write the age of the person who is getting the card.

2. Mamma and Ira made a welcome board for the Father's Day party. Dadu, Dida and Joy were coming. We were all set.

3. The best cook in the world, as Ira proclaims made lunch today. Chicken biryani and Chicken fry on the menu.

4. We made sure we got this pic with Dadu and Dida. See this to learn the varying degrees of smiles :)

5. Bhai is the less expressive one amongst us and needs to be coaxed for a pic. Guess the gene runs in the Das men. So, for me this is a very precious pic.

6. My pillar of strength. My Baba.

7. 2 Dads. 2 Daughters. (Stealing this caption from HIM). The world needs more Dads like these two <3 nbsp="" p="">

8. Mango Icecream from Amul makes this a happy happy day for our little girl, who loves parties, making cards, random days and icecream.
